Although this does not directly relate to the task we have been given; I have thought about music for my film and made a short mix, taken photo, edited photo and uploaded to youtube a possible idea for background music

Single camera film script and music (Hopefully)
This is an initial draft of my year 13 project. It will be an opening sequence to a teen drama in which the two girls become friends, however due to social and family views they find out unwanted "truths" about each other.

These two files I have made in reflection of the characters.
Script
The camera starts
with a single older teenage girl sat in a kitchen by herself. There are cereal
boxes and places set but she is the only one sat at the table.
Francheska: [Inside head] I do most of my thinking before breakfast. I was
thinking about a saying I recently heard. “Communist before you get rich. [Short snap short of a politics lecturer
teaching about the difference between communism and then flicks to the lecturer
in a mansion] Feminist before you get married. [Women in a protest for women then flicks to her walking down the
aisle] Atheist before you have a religious experience.” [A preacher, preaching an onlooker laughing
at him as he passes, then a flick to a car crashed up to see the man in a
stretcher] Why is it we are able to change our minds so quickly? One minute
we believe in something, then a quick change of circumstance and its gone? Why?
How can we just chance our minds to suit us?
Mum: You better hurry up or you will be late
for school.
Francheska get ready
for school intertwined with Zara getting ready. Francheska brushes teeth in a
clean bathroom, whereas Zara pours water over her alarm clock when it goes off.
Francheska pulls on hat and scarf and takes her dog on a walk, whereas Zara
drag herself out of bed, the room is a tip and she looks in her very empty
wardrobe for something to wear. Francheska picks up school bag and gets on the
school bus but Zara picks up gum and purse. Francheska walks into school and
meets friends, Zara on the other hand runs down a filthy stairwell.

Start Of Year 13 Single Camera Technique
This year we are starting to make our own mini film project. This is an even smaller mini movie 60 seconds long to help us get used to how to use the camera in different ways. This is a digital storyboard showing a short film in the style of a documentay of the school

Evaluation
One the hand, our pre production went very well we manged to complete evrything to a fairy high standard and we got all of our form made and signed by the people involoved. In addition to this, all the pre production was ready fairy quickly and therefore we met our deadline with plent of time to spare.
The actual production itself, as previously mentioned, was delayed due to the fact that our actors were otherwise occupied and were unable to film as they had otyher commitments. As a consequence, this delayed the actual production and therfore thepost preduction. On theother hand, once the actors were able to film, we manged to complete the filming fairly quickly. This meant that we could therfore start editing more quickly and do our first cut. To keep the typical elements of a music video we used 'the male gaze' for the women, although this objectified the women, it kept the common themes of a music video. One reason why the production could have gone so smoothly, and without many 'takes' was due to the fact that they did not need to learn lines.
Post production was the most time consuming sector of the production of teh video.
For our intial cut, we had to just match the shots to the music video and give the video a basic structure/skeleton. Once the video was posted onto youtube, it meant more people could look at it and comment on it.
After that I refined the timings to the basic drum beat, adding in extra shots to make the video look more realistic.
For our final cut, we added more colour and transitions to make the text seem more 'poppy'.

So guess what...?
We showed our teacher the second cut and he said it was grade merit and gave us a few things to tweek. He advised that we made some colours more vibrant. Since then, Melissa has exaggereated the 'red' and added more transitions to make the video more smooth between the cuts.

We think we may have our final cut done!!
Sorry about not blogging - I have been busy making small tweeks to our rough cut.
I have listened to the beat closely throughout the song and tried to change with shot according to the drum beat ( I thought that the bass beat was a beat distant and it would be hard to synchronise the video to a distant beat)
In all we have a lot of synchronicity and have a clear story line that does relate to the lyrics of the song. I will add it on tomorrow in my next lesson. I will also write an evaluation on here to clearly reflect on the text we have produced.

Almost at the end
We are almost at the end of the editing. We have saved the project to an indepenant memory card to, so if a person was away, it would eb possible for us to be able to keep working. It is in the care of Melissa asm A) she lives close so even if she is not in, we can get it B) She has best attendence and therfore she is least likely to not be in. Once we have finished it, we paln to transfer the data to the computer

The begning of Filming
YAY!! Guess what...? No, didn't think you could, we have got a day to actually satrt filimg. We are finally starting our practical work on Thirsday. I just got to check that I am available, but I should be able to make it. I am going to help with the coodirection. In addition to this, it is great fro me learning how to use the cameras for next year as the course involves us using them independantly as the task will be done by ourselves.
We should be able to finish the filming by next week and should start the begging of editing.

Planning Of Filming
yesterday we discussed with actors when we would be able to film them. It has now been decided that filming will start on thethe 20th of January as our "main man" has other performances taht he has to take part. Also our "man number 2" is also otherwise enagaged until the 17th as she (yes SHE) has exams and needs to focus on them. Another problem we may face is taht I may not be able to be there for all filming as it is apparent that we are doing most of our filming after school. And I will not be able to be there as I will not be able to get home. On the other hand, as I am the head of the editing, it is not so essential thst I am present during the filming.
